Yana Yevtyeyeva

Yana was loosing her vision due to eye cataract and needed an eye surgery. She is 15 and she has 4 brothers and her parents would never be able to afford this surgery in Ukraine. We were lucky to find Dr. Kiernan from Premier Eye Care and Surgery one of the best eye doctors in Chicago who performed Yana's surgery on August 15, 2007 free of charge. Thanks to Dr. Kiernan for helping Yana to return her vision. Also thanks to Good Shepherd Hospital that waived fees and provided the doctor with room and equipment during the surgery. Special thanks to Mike Deering, Director Communications of Good Shepherd Hospital for presenting our organization and asking the hospital to help Yana. Thanks to friendly nurses who helped during the surgery. Thanks to LOT Polish Airlines in Chicago who gave her 75% disount on flight ticket to Chicago and everybody else who helped us to bring Yana to Chicago. Yana loves staying in the USA and she is saying that this country is amazing mix of beautiful places and technology. After the surgery Yana dreams to come back to Slavutich and help school for disabled kids in her city.
